Welcome to R&D Unit


RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT AND POLICY TEAM
  1. Liaise with IT related Departments (Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Library and Information Science, etc.) to determine viable researches and researchers;
  2. Coordinate and review IT policies, IT research proposals and strategic plans for the ICICT
  3. Seek grant to build and maintain an Information Technology test bed Laboratory and  ICT Center of Excellence
  4. Preparation of Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) in conjunction with the University’s Legal Unit on IT related collaborations or partnerships;
  5. Organize workshops, seminars and conferences as well as participate in national and international conferences and seminars on computing services, use and application.

RESEARCH LINKAGES AND ADVANCEMENT TEAM

  1. Liaise with relevant University units such as the Directorate of University Advancement, School of Postgraduate Studies, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Legal Unit , etc, for creating IT-related research and advancement linkages;
  2. Facilitate linkages with the public/private sector for the sponsorship of IT related researches conducted in the ICICT;
  3. Prepare and package accepted IT-related proposals for submission to sponsors/funding agencies in conjunction with relevant units of the University.

PLANNING & CONSULTANCY TEAM (PCT)

  1. Provide Planning and Documentation services to the ICICT
  2. Advise on Quality Assurance on services provided by the ICICT
  3. Provide consultancy services to public and private establishments in conjunction with relevant units.
