Functions of SDU
  • Develop software applications and/or components for automation of processes and services in the University, including mobile applications;
  • Source, deploy, promote and manage use of open source software;
  • Advice the University Management on acquisition of COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) software.
  • Provide technical support for use and management of software systems in the University;
  • Provide system Computing & ICT services for the computing facilities in the University;
  • Develop policies and guidelines for use and maintenance of official and personal Web sites;
  • Provide consultancy services in software development;

  • Identify and organize the pieces of architecture for all aspects of the system (software development tools, to the high level design to the "off-the-shelf" components and services required for the system to function.)
  • Provides a development team with all of the tools they need to put together a great system.
